  • My pursuit as a composer probably began with this work, which I consider as my first serious, original composition. A few years back I was obsessed with French impressionist composers such Fauré, Debussy, and Ravel. I also cherished the melodic contours of Southern Chinese folk tunes from the Yunnan region. This piece is mere assimilation of both styles that influenced me greatly and is intended to evoke a euphoric, dream-like fantasy.
